The projects of CO-OPERAID help impoverished children and young people in a current total of eight countries in Africa and Asia. The aim of these projects is basic education for all children and the promotion of secondary and vocational education. At the same time the economic situation of the children’s and young people’s families is improved. CO-OPERAID refers in its work to the rights of the child, in particular the right to education and training, and to Millennium Goals numbers 2, 3 and 6, formulated by the UN in 2000. Aids orphans, children of impoverished rural populations, children of ethnic minorities and war victims are at the centre of our projects. Equal education for girls and boys and cooperation with women’s groups are special concerns of ours.
