The aim of the Project in Zombo District of Uganda - bordering Congo and stroken by the civil war in former years - is to secure the primary education of OVCs (Orphans and Vulnerable Children, including Aids Orphans), to promote their integration into village communities and to help them achieve economic independence. The children in our partner schools benefit from better educational opportunities. A further focal point is HIV/AIDS prevention and psychosocial counselling, also through Memory work.

Objectives

• To ensure equal education opportunities for orphans and vulnerable children with particular attention to the girl child and orphans.
• To address HIV/AIDS and health related issues among orphans and vulnerable children.
• To assist youths and Women groups carry out income generating activities through training and capacity building programs and alleviate poverty levels among them.
• To provide orphans and vulnerable children with necessary information for making informed decisions and promoting their Rights.
